Bocas del Mar Hotel is on the mainland and overlooks the Gulf of Chiriqui Marine National Park. The hotel’s own dock is perfect to set off from trips to visit the islands.
Travel in style in our own very comfortable 26ft excursion boat or center-console fishing vessel. The national park, created in 1994, covers 60 square miles (150 square km) of glistening ocean and over twenty magnificent islands dripping in luxuriant green forest and blessed with many palm tree-fringed beaches.
When looking out of the hotel, you see Isla Boca Brava opposite to the right (not in the national park) and to the left Isla Linarte, the start of the national park proper. Just around the corner a world of easy and enthralling exploration opens up to you. The islands are a treasure trove of water and nature, where Spanish galleons and pirates once sailed. There are also many land options to explore near the hotel.
The islands are made up of layers of sedimentary rock on top of volcanic stone up to 300 feet above sea level and small coastal plains with many fine sand beaches.
The richness of the ocean that surrounds the islands, with its corals and sea grass beds, is the most important feature of the national park. On the reefs there’s lobe coral and fire coral, and living among them spectacular species of fish such as angel fish and rainbow parrot fish.

Situated on the Pacific Ocean at Boca Chica, on the mainland in the province of Chiriquí, Panamá; near the border with Costa Rica. The city of Chiriqui is David and is 50 minutes away.
HOW TO GO THERE?
- Take an international flight to Panama City (PTY)
- From Panama City we offer you an Air taxi to Chiriqui.
- Also possible go by Bus or Car will take around 8 hours.
- From David Airport you can enjoy a water-plane trip to the Hotel
- By car from David to the Hotel is one hour.
- Is also possible by Public Taxi.
Policy section
Cancellation Policy
- 30 days or more before arrival: we will refund your deposit minus a 15 USD administration fee.
- 10-29 days before arrival: we will cancel your reservation but are unable to refund your deposit.
- Less than 10 days before arrival and no shows: A full charge for your accommodation will be made.
Reservation Policy:
- We require a Visa or MasterCard details to guarantee the booking.
- Payment is also possible by Wire Transfer.
Checking In/Out Policy:
- CHECK-IN time from 2:00PM
- CHECK-OUT time is before 11:00PM.
- Guests may come to the hotel from approximately 12pm and use the facilities.
- Early check-in & late check-out upon request.
Other Policy
- Babies: 1 baby aged 0-3 can stay free of charge when using existing beds.
- Kids under 4 years old are free, sleeping with the parents.
- Kids 4+ years old and over count as add. person $40.00 + 10% per night.
- No pets allowed.
- No personal food and drink may be consumed or prepared on the premises please except in Suite with kitchen.
- No smoking in the restaurant, other outdoor public areas or inside rooms, except on bungalow porches/terraces
- Rollaway: A rollaway bed can be added on request to all room types except the Premier Suite.
Taxes: Room rates are subject to 10% ITBMS tax.
Food and drinks are subject to 7% ITBMS tax and
10% standard service charge (excluding breakfast, which is included in the room rate).
