The Gamboa Rainforest Resort design is inspired by the former Hotel Tivoli, whose construction began in 1905 and opened to the public in 1907. It was located at the foot of Ancon Hill and had many famous guests during its existence, like President Theodore Roosevelt in December of 1906 right before its opening.
Located on a sharp bend of the Chagres River at the point that feeds Lake Gatun. Just south of Gamboa, Lake Gatun and the Chagres meet the Culebra Cut (Gaillard Cut), where the Canal cuts through the Continental Divide. Gamboa is adjacent to significant tracts of relatively undisturbed rainforest. A trail that follows an old pipeline (“Pipeline Road”) is considered one of the best birding hikes in Panama and one of the premiere bird watching sites in all of Central America.

Cancellation Policy
- All Seasons (December 20th, 2016 to December 19th, 2017)
Cancellations made 3 days prior to client’s arrival to hotel, will result in a charge equivalent to the room rate of 1 night at selected hotel. Payment must be received within a maximum of 4 days prior to client’s arrival to hotel, in order to avoid automatic cancellation of the reservation. This policy will also apply for No Shows.
Reservation Policy:
- A minimum of 72 hours lead time for client to confirm or cancel a reservation.
- To guarantee your reservation, we require full payment.
- Payment must be made by Wire Transfer.
Checking In/Out Policy:
- CHECK-IN time 3:00PM
- CHECK-OUT time is 12:00PM.
- Early check-in & late check-out upon request.
Other Policy
- Up to 2 kids under 2 years old are Free, sleeping with the parents.
- 1 add. person at 3+ years old $27.00 + 10% per night.
